WebTown House is the oldest at Rugby School and dates back to 1567 rumoured to be the opposing side to School House in the game that Webb Ellis was inspired on the close at the school. Our jersey pays homage to that founding side that graced the town. WebFeb 7, 2024 · Established in 1567, Rugby is among the country’s oldest independent schools, and its chapel, new quadrangle, gymnasium, temple reading room and the Macready Theatre were designed by the eminent Gothic Revival architect William Butterfield.
