However, it does not allow the May 2024 update(and future updates) for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 to be installed unless the BypassESU-v7 tool is used.

It was discovered and published in December 2024 by AIO. The bypass worked with the test ESU patch that Microsoft released, but it was not clear back then if it would also work with “real” patches.
